All wells drilled by REMON and any wells on which we have installed a water purification system have previously been sampled for raw water quality. In most cases, the well water is iron or manganese. The iron-containing water can cause iron deposits in the pipes. The iron deposits also cause a brown color. Where the water has come in contact with oxygen, you can see additional iron attachments. By the oxygen supply, the oxidation process begins, and the iron is transformed. You then get the familiar rust color. If iron-containing water is needed for a long time, the pipes can even clog up completely.

Manganese can be considered the 'brother' of iron. The values are mostly also increased in the raw well water. Manganese-containing water ensures black buildup. This black manganese adhesion can also be found in the pipes. Manganese oxidizes more slowly than iron. However, if the manganese-containing water is needed for a long time, the pipes may also become clogged.

Biofilm

This biofilm ensures an increased amount of bacteria in drinking water. By adding chlorine or chlorine oxide via a drip system, it is possible to remove the biofilm. Therefore, it is also necessary for drinking water systems to treat the raw well water with a de-ironing plant (if it is just iron) or with an ion exchanger (if the water is manganese-containing).
